Opportunities to Serve -

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. ³⁶ I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. FOR THE HUNGRY:

Thanksgiving Boxes for families. On Thursday, November 19th our school will team up with Heart of the Springs Church and will leave in the morning at travel to Albertsons to buy a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for a family in need. The cost of each box is $50.00.  We are encouraging each student to join with others to sponsor and purchase a box.  We are encouraging our parent’s to match what their kids did!

FOR THE NAKED:

Coats and Blankets. Between now and December we want to collect clothing: coats, sweaters, blankets, and other clothes for the Springs Rescue Mission.  Bring your donations in between now and December 3rd

WHY?

USCS believes a heart for missions is essential in a Christian’s life development. It is our desire to provide opportunities for all students and their families to serve locally and abroad. In the previous years, our opportunities have included:

1. Providing Thanksgiving meals to families in the Colorado Springs Area

2. Caroling and making Christmas cards to local nursing homes

3. Support for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

4. Collecting school supplies for schools in Uganda

5. Providing fund raising opportunities for a variety of missionary organizations

6. High school mission trip to Mexico (to serve at orphanages)

7. Monthly local mission opportunities for students of all ages

It is our hope to provide many more opportunities to serve together.
